Instead of staring at a piano roll and wondering what chord comes next, I'll use SongEngine to generate new progressions and then show you how I turn those raw ideas into something that feels personal and musical. You'll see how I quickly evaluate generated progressions, reshape them with simple techniques, replace individual chords, and explore unexpected harmonic directions that I probably wouldn't have found on my own.

How to trigger chord pads with a MIDI controller

SongEngine contains several ways to trigger chords with one finger. You can use a MIDI controller or your computer keyboard for this.

How to create emotional chord progressions

SongEngine contains several hundred Chord Pad Collections for different emotions and feelings. Simply open the Chords page, then click on the Pad Source field and choose "Emotional chords".
